Ping Pong and Its Legacy

What is ping pong? The world may ask how did this thrilling game surface in this rambunctious world? Well what started out as a way to play tennis in doors, eventually turned into the game we now know and love.


This famous game is now played all over the world, with several different championships, all ending with a World Championship game!

To help govern this game, the Ping Pong Association was created, but was later renamed to the Table Tennis Association, with several different areas, including the International Table Tennis Federation.

As the game began to grow and grow, it finally became a part of the Olympics in 1988, which created a huge increase in participation across the world.
